1. Privacy at a Glance

wandlio.de is a file conversion service by MB-ITiL GmbH. For local conversions (WebP→JPG, PNG→JPG, JPG→PDF etc.), your files are never uploaded – everything happens locally in your browser.

For server-side conversions (HEIC→JPG, PDF→JPG, Word→PDF etc.), your file is transmitted encrypted and deleted immediately from the server after conversion. We do not store any files permanently.

3. Data Collection on this Website

3.1 Server Log Files

The hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH) automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of server request
  • IP address

This data is not combined with other data sources.

3.2 Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. Technically necessary cookies are only used for the operation of the website.

4. Server-side Conversion

For conversions that cannot be performed in the browser (e.g. PDF→JPG, Word→PDF), your file is transmitted to our server. The transmission is encrypted (HTTPS).

We do not store your file permanently. After the conversion is completed, the file is immediately deleted from the server. It is not passed on to third parties.

5. Usage Statistics

To understand which converters are used and where errors occur, we collect our own usage data. This processing happens entirely on our own server – no third-party services such as Google Analytics are involved.

For each page view and each conversion we record:

  • the page visited and the converter used
  • the number and total size of converted files, and how long the conversion took
  • a random session identifier stored in your browser's sessionStorage, which expires when you close the tab
  • browser identification (user agent) and referrer
  • your IP address – solely to determine the country

Your IP address is not stored. It is first used to determine the country, and only the country code is retained. The address is then replaced by a pseudonym derived from the address, a server secret and the current date. The original address cannot be reconstructed from it, and the value changes daily.

Retention: the data is deleted automatically after 90 days.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to develop the service according to actual demand and to detect malfunctions. You may object to this processing at any time (see section 7).

The contents of the files you convert are never recorded, analysed or linked to this data.

6. Error Tracking

To detect technical faults we use GlitchTip, a self-hosted error tracking tool. It runs on our own server at glitchtip.mb-itil.de; no data is transmitted to third parties.

If an error occurs in your browser, the error message, the URL visited and technical details about your browser and operating system are transmitted. Transmission of personal data is explicitly disabled (sendDefaultPii: false). File contents are never transmitted.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in fault-free operation.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to information, correction, deletion, and restriction of the processing of your personal data at any time. Contact us at Info@MB-ITiL.de.

8. SSL/TLS Encryption

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the address bar of your browser changing from "http://" to "https://".
